The first step is accepting that a loved one is dying and that your family needs help with the end-of-life process. Hospice care can begin as early as the following day upon referral from the patient’s physician. Typically, a hospice representative typically visits the patient at home within 24-hours to evaluate the patient’s eligibility and specific needs to tailor a unique care program designed for the patient and his or her unique needs.
